Meal Times

Mrs Judy Immanuel, Helen, Sunithol and Hebzi with the children at lunchtime

Maximum use is made of the external areas for eating and other communal activities. Here the children can be seen lined up awaiting their evening meal (below) and with their meals ready on banana leaves on the left.

The major cost of keeping the children is providing their food.

The diet is simple, consisting largely of boiled rice and vegetables. Occasionally a meat based stew can be provided.

The Kitchen
Food is prepared in a simple kitchen where two gas fired heaters are used for cooking. Where possible home produced or locally grown foods and spices are used in the cooking. The home has its own cow to produce milk
