Education
Elementary education is provided by the state at local schools but students
who proceed to courses above the 10th. grade must attend a private school. The
"Home" has to pay for transport of these students as well as their
tuition fees.
Homework
sessions are held each evening in the "Home" when senior girls provide
tutorial support to the younger children.
The "Pastor" and his assistants check each term the progress of individual
children. Remedial teaching is provided within the tutorial system.
The picture shows the children waiting to be transported to school.
A separate house has recently beeen aquired near the Senior School. This was
aquired with funds made available through "Warmington Link". It houses
senior girls and occasionally boys. Much still has to be done to improve its
facilities
About 800 children have attained the age of 14 and moved into
employment in the local area. The main employers are the tea and coffee estates
and spice gardens, many of which still belong to British companies.
Senior girls receive counselling and training and often assist in tutorial roles
with the younger children.
Some "Graduates" of the "Home" have moved on to "Bible
College".
